Uber backs Kalanick's robotics startup Atoms with $100M in $1.7B a16z-led round

Atoms, Travis Kalanick's industrial robotics venture (formerly CloudKitchens), raised $1.7 billion in July 2026 led by Andreessen Horowitz. Uber contributed $100 million — linking the company that ousted Kalanick as CEO in 2017 to his current startup. Ben Horowitz joins Atoms' board. Atoms targets mining, food, and transportation robotics.
