Uber invested $100 million in Kalanick's robotics startup Atoms as part of $1.7B a16z-led round

Atoms, Travis Kalanick's industrial robotics venture formerly known as CloudKitchens, raised $1.7 billion in July 2026 led by Andreessen Horowitz. Uber contributed $100 million — a corporate-capital link between the company that ousted Kalanick as CEO in 2017 and his current startup. Ben Horowitz will join Atoms' board. Atoms targets mining, food, and transportation robotics.
