First mental health strategy under Pae Ora Act, with 50 actions and three-year plan

Mental Health Minister Matt Doocey has released New Zealand's first Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy at Parliament, under the Pae Ora Act — the law governing the health system. Doocey said mental health's earlier exclusion from the Act was a "huge mistake." The strategy lists 50 actions over three years, with faster access to support, more frontline staff and improved crisis response.
