Tories and Lib Dems press chancellor on student loan repayments
Conservative shadow education secretary Laura Trott and Lib Dem education spokeswoman Munira Wilson signed a joint letter urging the chancellor to act on student loan repayment rates. Lib Dem MP Tom Gordon, a borrower himself, said no bank could alter repayment terms this retrospectively. Over 20 Labour MPs have already demanded reform. The loans system covers England only; education is devolved in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
