
SpaceX Plans to Become a Full Mobile Carrier
On SpaceX's first earnings call since its June 2026 IPO, President Gwynne Shotwell said the company will become a terrestrial mobile carrier competing with AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. Rooftop Starlink dishes would act as ground stations broadcasting in mobile spectrum bands. SpaceX claims better bandwidth than existing cellular networks but released no technical data to support that.
