
SpaceX Declares Intent to Become Full Mobile Carrier, Competing With AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile
On SpaceX's first public earnings call since its June 2026 IPO, President and COO Gwynne Shotwell said the company intends to become a full terrestrial mobile carrier competing directly with AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. The plan would use rooftop Starlink dishes as small terrestrial stations transmitting in mobile spectrum bands. SpaceX claims better bandwidth than current cellular networks but provided no technical data.
