Star Wars Gets Its First Welsh-Language Dub

Lucasfilm, Disney, S4C, and Creative Wales have co-produced the first Welsh-language dub of Star Wars: A New Hope, announced at the National Eisteddfod on 4 August 2026. Lucasfilm's Michael Kohn said the project aims to preserve and revitalise Welsh learning. It airs on S4C from Christmas Day, ahead of the film's 50th anniversary in 2027.
