Star Wars Dubbed Into Welsh for the First Time

Lucasfilm, Disney, S4C, and Creative Wales have made the first Welsh-language version of Star Wars: A New Hope — replacing the original English dialogue with Welsh voice acting. Announced at the National Eisteddfod on 4 August 2026, Lucasfilm's Michael Kohn said it aims to spark interest in learning Welsh. It airs on S4C from Christmas Day, ahead of the film's 50th anniversary in 2027.
