Lucasfilm, Disney, and Welsh Government Co-Fund First Welsh-Language Star Wars Dub

Lucasfilm, Disney, S4C, and the Welsh government's Creative Wales agency have co-produced the first Welsh-language dub of Star Wars: A New Hope, announced at the National Eisteddfod on 4 August 2026. Lucasfilm's Michael Kohn said the project aims to preserve and revitalise interest in learning Welsh. It airs on S4C from Christmas Day, ahead of the film's 50th anniversary in 2027.
