Apple Challenges Second UK Demand for Access to Encrypted iCloud Data

Apple has complained to the UK's Investigatory Powers Tribunal over a second technical capability notice issued in October 2025 demanding access to encrypted iCloud data, the Financial Times first reported. The UK dropped its initial demand in August 2025 after US pressure. UK users lost access to Apple's end-to-end Advanced Data Protection in February 2025.
