Apple Challenges Second UK Order Demanding Access to Encrypted iCloud Data

Apple has filed a complaint with the UK's Investigatory Powers Tribunal challenging a second technical capability notice issued in October 2025 demanding access to encrypted iCloud data. The Financial Times first reported the filing. The UK's initial demand was dropped in August 2025 after US pressure; UK users lost Advanced Data Protection in February 2025.
