High Court orders first return of trafficking victim under UK-France scheme
A High Court judge ordered the Home Office to return a Sudanese torture survivor from France — the first such case under the UK-France 'one in, one out' arrangement. Mr Justice Sheldon struck down a policy blocking reconsideration of trafficking claims after initial rejection. The man, removed on 27 November 2025, had reasonable grounds as a trafficking victim. Both sides may appeal.
