High Court orders first return of trafficking victim under UK-France 'one in, one out' scheme
A High Court judge ordered the Home Office to bring back a Sudanese torture survivor from France — the first such return under the UK-France 'one in, one out' scheme. Mr Justice Sheldon quashed a policy denying reconsideration of trafficking claims after initial rejection. The man, removed on 27 November 2025, had reasonable grounds as a trafficking victim. Both sides received permission to appeal.
