Two Hospitalised After Ultimo Construction Site Collapse

A building under construction on Wattle Street, Ultimo, collapsed around 11am on 3 August 2026, trapping two men aged in their 30s and 60s. Both were pulled from the debris and hospitalised in serious condition, per Ambulance NSW. Five others were assessed and released. Police evacuated the site; urban search and rescue units — specialist teams trained for collapsed-structure recovery — attended. The cause remains unknown.
