Venezuela Rebuilds Diplomatic Ties With Dominican Republic

Venezuela and the Dominican Republic agreed August 2 to gradually restore diplomatic and consular relations, severed after Santo Domingo rejected Maduro's fraudulent 2024 re-election. Since US forces seized Maduro in January 2026, interim President Delcy Rodríguez has reestablished ties with Washington in March and now Santo Domingo, methodically repairing the diplomatic ruptures of the Maduro era.
