Trump: U.S. Scrapped Iran Strike After Deal Framework Reached

President Trump said on Truth Social on Aug. 1, 2026, that the U.S. cancelled a planned strike on Iran at its request because "the perimeters of a deal has been agreed to." He said it would open the Strait of Hormuz and end Iran's nuclear threat. Iran's Mehr news agency called the claim "simply a new lie."
