UK Petrol Reaches 160p a Litre — Highest Since 2022 — as Oil Surges Past $90

RAC data shows UK petrol averaged 160p per litre on 31 July 2026 — the highest since November 2022 — after US strikes on Iran pushed Brent crude above $90 a barrel. Filling a family car now costs £88. Prices had briefly dropped to 151p after a July ceasefire announcement before renewed military escalation reversed the decline.
