UK Petrol Hits 160p a Litre — Highest Since 2022 — as US-Iran Conflict Drives Oil Above $90
RAC data shows UK petrol averaged 160p per litre on 31 July 2026, the highest since November 2022, after US strikes on Iran pushed Brent crude above $90 a barrel. Filling a family car now costs £88. Prices had briefly fallen to 151p after a ceasefire announcement earlier in July before renewed military escalation reversed the decline.
