Luxon calls Peters' remarks racist but keeps him as Foreign Minister

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has called coalition partner Winston Peters' comment to Green MP Lawrence Xu-nan — "go back to your own country" — racist and "completely inappropriate." Peters made the remarks in Parliament on Wednesday. Despite this, Luxon confirmed he still has confidence in Peters as Foreign Minister. Former PM Helen Clark and former National leader Don Brash have called for Peters to be sacked.
