PM calls Peters' remarks racist but keeps him in his job

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has called coalition partner Winston Peters' comment to Green MP Lawrence Xu-nan — "go back to your own country" — racist and "completely inappropriate." Peters said it in Parliament on Wednesday. Despite this, Luxon said he still trusts Peters as Foreign Minister. Former PM Helen Clark and former politician Don Brash say Peters should lose his job.
