Luxon calls Peters' 'go back to your own country' remarks racist, keeps him as Foreign Minister

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has called coalition partner Winston Peters' comments to Green MP Lawrence Xu-nan — "go back to your own country" — racist, "very offensive and completely inappropriate." Peters made the remarks in Parliament on Wednesday. Despite this, Luxon confirmed he still has confidence in Peters as Foreign Minister. Helen Clark and Don Brash have called for Peters to be sacked.
