Labour passes National on economic trust in Ipsos poll

Labour has overtaken National as the party New Zealanders trust most to manage the economy, the July 2026 Ipsos Issues Monitor shows — a first in the survey's recent history. Labour rose from 28% to 34% between May and July; National fell from 33% to 30%. The survey of 1,002 people ran 8–14 July, with a credibility interval of ±3.5 points.
