Labour overtakes National on economic management in Ipsos Issues Monitor

Labour has overtaken National as the party New Zealanders trust most to manage the economy, according to the July 2026 Ipsos Issues Monitor — the first time in the survey's recent history. Labour rose from 28% to 34% between May and July, while National fell from 33% to 30%. The survey of 1,002 New Zealanders was conducted 8–14 July, with a credibility interval of ±3.5 points.
