150-Year-Overdue Library Book Found Bricked Into Fireplace

A renovator in Kiama, south of Sydney, discovered a copy of "The Antiquities of Athens" sealed in a tea crate inside a fireplace. Catalogued as No. 506 in Kiama Library's 1872 founding collection, the water-damaged volume returned roughly 150 years late. The library will permanently display it rather than pursue the A$28,000 inflation-adjusted fine.
