Book returned to Australian library 150 years overdue after being found bricked into fireplace

A renovator in Kiama, south of Sydney, found a copy of "The Antiquities of Athens" sealed inside a tea crate bricked into a fireplace. Catalogued as No. 506 in Kiama Library's 1872 founding collection, the water-damaged volume was returned an estimated 150 years late. The library will display it permanently rather than pursue the A$28,000 inflation-adjusted fine.
