A Typo in a Username Wrongly Imprisoned a Man for 18 Months

Nova Scotia police conflated two usernames differing only by an underscore, attributing one account's activity to Brandon Klayme, who was tied to the other. Convicted of child luring and possessing child pornography, Klayme served 18 months. In late July, the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal acquitted him outright, stating he "should never have been charged, let alone convicted."
