A Missing Underscore in a Username Sent an Innocent Man to Prison for 18 Months

Nova Scotia police investigating online child luring conflated two usernames differing only by an underscore, attributing one account's activity to Brandon Klayme, who was tied to the other. Klayme was convicted of child luring and possession of child pornography, and spent 18 months in prison. In late July, the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal entered outright acquittals, stating he "should never have been charged, let alone convicted."
