Crown signs $3.65b public-private partnership for Northland Expressway

The Crown has signed a public-private partnership with the Northway consortium to build and run the first 26km of the Northland Expressway, from Warkworth to Te Hana. The deal is worth $3.649 billion — $251 million below the $3.9 billion benchmark Cabinet approved in March 2024. Transport Minister Chris Bishop announced the signing on 30 July.
