Māori roll switch closes at midnight 6 August, locked until after election

Māori-descended voters have until midnight Thursday, 6 August 2026 to switch between the Māori and general rolls before the 7 November election. After that, roll type is fixed for the whole election period. Chief electoral officer Karl Le Quesne says movement between rolls has been relatively balanced in 2025. Switch at vote.nz.
