FAA Proposes Mandatory Seat Inspections Across 453 Boeing 737 MAX Jets
The FAA wants mandatory inspections of 453 US-registered Boeing 737 MAX jets after finding seats incorrectly installed in their floor tracks. The concern: loose seats could shift during emergency landings, injuring passengers or blocking aisle evacuations. Boeing flagged the issue in December 2025 and backs making the fix required. About 2,300 MAX jets operate worldwide.
