FAA Wants Seat Checks on 453 Boeing 737 MAX Planes Over Safety Risk
The FAA wants airlines to inspect 453 Boeing 737 MAX planes after finding some seats not properly bolted to the floor. If seats come loose during an emergency landing, passengers could get hurt or get stuck trying to escape down the aisle. Boeing first warned airlines in December 2025 and supports making the checks mandatory. About 2,300 MAX jets fly worldwide.
