Gironde Wildfire Reaches Bordeaux Outskirts, Triggering Urban Evacuations

A wildfire from Saumos, Gironde reached Bordeaux's outskirts by July 26, forcing eight communes to evacuate via FR-Alert, France's national population-warning system. Since July 22, 220,000 people have been displaced and 42,000 hectares burned. Two firefighters died. No containment has been reported.
