Cognition Buys Poke, Betting AI Personality Becomes Key Differentiator

Cognition, maker of the Devin AI coding agent, acquired Poke's parent, The Interaction Company, for low nine figures. Poke users exchanged over 100 million messages last quarter. Cognition plans to bring Poke's conversational personality to Devin — betting interaction style now matters as much as underlying models. Poke stays independent through end of 2026; integration work begins in 2027.
