Craneware breach: 147M patient records potentially exposed after data exfiltration

Craneware, which serves thousands of U.S. hospitals and pharmacies, disclosed on July 20, 2026 that hackers stole a "significant volume" of data. The Edinburgh-based firm gained access to 147 million patient records through its 2021 acquisition of Sentry. Craneware has not confirmed whether patient records were among the stolen data. Shares closed over 7% down.
