Hackers steal large data haul from company tied to 147 million patient records

Craneware, a company that helps U.S. hospitals and pharmacies, said on July 20, 2026 that hackers stole a "significant volume" of its data. The Edinburgh-based company got access to 147 million patient records when it bought another company, Sentry, in 2021. It has not said whether patient records were stolen. Its stock fell over 7%.
