Apple Music and Spotify push US streaming past the $9.99 floor

Apple Music raised all US tiers on July 17, 2026 — individual to $11.99, family to $19.99, student to $6.99 — citing rising licensing costs. Spotify Premium recently moved to $12.99. Both now sit well above the $9.99 price that defined ad-free streaming's first decade. Apple's last increase was October 2022.
