Apple Music and Spotify have both pushed US streaming prices past the $9.99 era

Apple Music raised all US tiers on July 17, 2026 — individual to $11.99, family to $19.99, student to $6.99 — citing rising licensing costs. Spotify Premium recently moved to $12.99. Both services now sit well above the $9.99 floor that defined ad-free music streaming's first decade. Apple last raised prices in October 2022.
