Beijing's Moonshot AI is about to release Kimi K3, a 2-to-3-trillion-parameter open-weight model — meaning its trained weights are freely available for download and modification. Sources tell the Financial Times it may match or exceed Anthropic's Opus 4.8. If so, it would be China's largest AI model and the biggest open-weight release globally.
