Chinese AI Startup Prepares to Release One of the World's Largest AI Models

Beijing-based Moonshot AI is set to release Kimi K3, an AI model so large it contains up to three trillion adjustable settings — the values that determine how the system responds. The company will let anyone download and study those values for free. The Financial Times reports it may rival Anthropic's Opus 4.8, a top commercial system. It would be China's biggest model yet, and the largest freely released anywhere. No independent test results are available yet.
