World No. 1 Elena Rybakina has withdrawn from the WTA Finals in Indian Wells, which she was due to defend as champion. The WTA classed it a medical withdrawal, citing a medical issue, because she does not feel physically ready to compete. She announced it on Saturday 7 November and says she will rest and recover for the 2027 season.
