Utah Royals reach the NWSL semifinals for the first time in club history after beating second-seeded San Diego Wave 1-0 in a playoff quarter-final on 6 November. Kiana Palacios scored in the 30th minute, and goalkeeper Mandy McGlynn made four saves. San Diego had 62 per cent possession and 16 shots, but lost their fourth straight playoff match.
