Former Moroccan Intelligence Officer Confirms Pegasus Spyware Campaign

A former DGST officer, pseudonym Safir, confirmed Morocco deployed NSO Group's Pegasus spyware (2017–autumn 2021) against journalists, activists, French politicians, Spanish ministers, and Spanish police. Two other ex-agents corroborated the account; Amnesty's Security Lab forensically verified it. Morocco denies the allegations and maintains active defamation suits in European courts.
