A former Moroccan intelligence officer, using the fake name Safir, confirmed Morocco secretly hacked phones of journalists, activists, and European politicians from 2017 to late 2021. Two other former agents backed the story, and Amnesty International verified it with technical evidence. Morocco denies everything and is suing critics in European courts.
