RFU backs Steve Borthwick to lead England into 2027 World Cup regardless of autumn results

RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney says Steve Borthwick will lead England into the 2027 Rugby World Cup even if the autumn goes badly. Sweeney said he could not see a scenario in which Borthwick would be replaced, whatever the November results. England face Australia, Japan and New Zealand. Borthwick's contract runs until after the 2028 Six Nations.
