Former MLB First Baseman Mark Teixeira Wins Texas House Seat for Republicans

Former MLB first baseman Mark Teixeira won Texas's 21st Congressional District seat for Republicans, beating Democrat Kristin Hook with 54.5 percent of the vote after 99 percent of ballots were counted by Wednesday morning. Republicans have held the seat since 1979. Chip Roy did not run again, leaving it open. Trump and Gov. Greg Abbott endorsed Teixeira.
