ACT still searching for new deputy leader as campaign looms

Brooke van Velden, ACT's deputy leader and Tāmaki MP, announced in March she will not seek re-election. The party has not named a successor heading into the 2026 campaign. ACT signalled in June it would announce a new deputy at Rally 26, suggesting the leadership question remains unsettled as the election cycle picks up pace.
