ACT faces deputy leadership vacancy heading into election campaign

Brooke van Velden, ACT's deputy leader and Tāmaki MP, announced in March she will not seek re-election. The party has not settled on a successor before the 2026 campaign. ACT hinted in June it would name a new deputy at Rally 26, signalling the leadership question remains unresolved as the election cycle intensifies.
