UK Unions Gain Legal Right to Enter Workplaces From 30 October
Trade unions in Britain gained new rights on 30 October 2026 to enter workplaces or communicate with staff electronically, under the Employment Rights Act 2025. Where access is not agreed, unions can request it through the Central Arbitration Committee, which can impose penalties if access is refused or delayed. Access agreements can last up to two years.
