Shaun the Sheep Co-Director Says AI Animation Is Not an Existential Threat to Aardman, for Now

Matthew Walker, co-director of Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, told Variety on 29 October 2026 that AI-made animation is not an existential threat to Aardman, at least for the moment. He said audiences can often sense machine-made work, even when they cannot say why. He added stop-motion's appeal includes viewers knowing models and sets are real.
