Pentagon Says Iran War Has Cost US Taxpayers At Least $47.1 Billion

The Pentagon has told US lawmakers that the US-Israel war on Iran has cost American taxpayers at least $47.1 billion as of October 16, 2026. The estimate is more than 25% above its previous figure. It excludes repairs to damaged US bases and fuel for ships and aircraft. The war began February 28.
